An industrial show booth has to do three things at once: let visitors see the equipment demonstrated live, let the brand be recognized from far down the aisle, and give buyers a place to sit down and talk.

From October 20 to 22, 2026, Taiwan Industrial Week and TAITRONICS (Taipei International Electronics Show) ran in the same week at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. We completed one booth in each hall: one a hybrid of modular system and custom-built construction, the other an illuminated, fully custom-built booth. This article uses these two booths to show where industrial show booth design starts.

Summary: Industrial show booth design starts with the equipment demo and meeting flow, then moves on to the identity form. Use a modular system for straight, modular walls. Use custom-built construction for long-span headers and shaped volumes. The two can be combined.

Same Week, Two Halls: 2026 Taiwan Industrial Week and TAITRONICS

Two shows in the same week with overlapping move-in times: drawings, materials and crews have to be scheduled before work starts.

  • 2026 Taiwan Industrial Week: Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 2, October 20–22, including zones such as RHVAC Taiwan (International Refrigeration, HVAC & Green Energy Technology Expo).

  • TAITRONICS 2026 (Taipei International Electronics Show): Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, also October 20–22.

One booth in each hall, with move-in and move-out in the same week. So the construction drawings, materials and move-in schedule for both sides were planned together before work began, to keep the two sites from competing for the same crew and materials.

Case 1: RHVAC Taiwan, a Joint Booth in Modular System + Custom-Built Hybrid

A 12 × 6 m booth for one main brand and three partners: modular system for the walls, custom-built construction for the header.

This is a joint booth where an energy-saving equipment brand exhibited together with its partners. At the top is a white perimeter header. The main brand name sits on the front of the header, the partner names run along the sides, and all four aisles can see them.

Why Combine Modular and Custom-Built

Most walls and display cabinets in a booth are straight and regular in size, so they go to the modular system. The header has to span the whole booth with clean, seamless surfaces, so it goes to custom-built construction.

A modular system moves in quickly and keeps dimensions consistent, which suits repeated facades and cabinets. Custom-built construction suits long spans, flat wrapped surfaces such as the header, and partition walls shared with neighboring booths. Each method does what it does best, so both schedule and form are covered.

Equipment Demo on the Counter

The exhibits are energy-saving equipment and control systems, and nothing is more convincing than working equipment, so the counter is designed as a demo table.

Working equipment and a pipework display rack sit on the long counter, with tablets and screens showing operating data. Sales staff can operate the equipment and explain it from behind the counter.

Multi-Brand Zoning: One Wall per Brand

Each partner has its own facade and display table. All share one color base, with just one stripe of a different color on the columns to mark the zones.

The risk with a joint booth is that it looks like four booths pushed together. We gave each company its own wall and tables, but kept materials, lighting and typefaces consistent. From outside it reads as one booth; once inside, it is clear who is who. The back wall carries a full-height valley and river landscape print, echoing the themes of energy saving and sustainability.

Case 2: TAITRONICS, a Fully Custom-Built Illuminated Booth

A 6 × 9 m booth where two angled illuminated lightboxes rise from the platform and become a landmark on the aisle.

The exhibits are handheld measuring instruments: small and numerous. Small items are easy to lose in a large hall, so we let the booth itself carry the identity: two angled white lightboxes with 3D brand letters on top, visible from far away.

Platform Light Strip and Illuminated Display Columns

A light strip runs around the wood-grain platform, and the display columns glow too, so the whole booth is lit up in the hall.

The main exhibits sit in display frames on illuminated square columns, so visitors can see the products from the aisle. The platform light strip outlines the booth edge, making its shape clear from a distance.

Shelf Display Wall + High-Table Meetings

Small instruments suit a "single line" layout: the main wall uses wood-grain shelves for neat display, with high tables in front so buyers can pick up a product and talk.

The meeting area uses white high tables and bar stools. They take little floor space and work for standing or sitting. On the other side of the back wall is a world map wall that shows the brand's locations and markets.

Modular, Custom-Built or Hybrid: How to Choose for an Industrial Show

Decide by form and schedule: straight, modular layouts suit a modular system; curves, angled surfaces and long spans suit custom-built; if you need both, combine them.

  1. Many walls and cabinets of regular size → modular system: quick move-in, easy to control dimensions.

  2. An identity form is needed (angled lightboxes, a large header, curves) → custom-built: freedom of form, flat surfaces.

  3. Heavy equipment, or connections to power, water or compressed air → first check the organizer's power and piping rules, then decide how to build the demo table.

  4. Both needs in the same booth → hybrid, with each method doing what it does best.

FAQ

How early should we start preparing an industrial show booth design?

We recommend starting 3 to 4 months before the show. First confirm the size and weight of the exhibits and whether they will be demonstrated live. That lets you plan the demo table and visitor flow, then move on to the form and the submission of construction drawings for review.

Can modular and custom-built construction be combined in one booth?

Yes, and it is common. Walls and cabinets use a modular system, while the header, signage and shaped volumes are custom-built. This covers both schedule and form.

What should we watch for when equipment will run live at the booth?

First check the organizer's rules on power, load capacity and piping, then design the demo table's height and maintenance space. Screens, tablets and other data displays also need power and cable routing planned in.

How do we keep a multi-brand booth from looking fragmented?

Use the same materials, lighting and typefaces throughout. Give each brand its own wall and tables, and place the main brand at the highest point, visible from the farthest distance.

Are the booth rules the same in Nangang Hall 1 and Hall 2?

Height limits, power and submission rules for both halls follow the organizer's manual for that edition, and different shows in the same week may differ. For general points before building, see Nangang Exhibition Center Booth Build Guide.
